About Dadvolution

My name is Jason Owens and I want to start a revolution. I came from a home without a dad and see so many others in the same boat. My goal, lofty as it may be, is to change the perception of fatherhood from burden into what it really is, a noble calling. My goal is that more and more men take up the mantle of fatherhood rather than just being a sperm donor.

Why I started this

It was late 2016 when Bethany and I discovered we were going to be parents. I was excited, terrified and amazed…I was going to be a father.

Many of you know first hand what I did next. I read/watched/listened to everything I could find on how to ensure my kid was the picture of health when he took his first breath. Even though he was a month early, and looked a bit like an alien, Caedmon was healthy as an ox.

Ever since the day Bethany had her first sonogram, Fatherhood has been the number one thing on my heart. This blog has been on my heart for about a year now. In February 2019 I finally am reaching out to the world with a call to arms.

Who is this guy

Great question. I am a 43 year old father who wants to show men just how great it is to be a Dad. You know the old bumper sticker about “Even the worst day fishing beats, a great day at work”? That’s exactly how I feel about being a Dad, except for taco vomit…that night really sucked.

I have done the following: Grocery sacker, Infantryman, Fire-Team Leader, Squad Leader ( I totally sucked at this), Auto parts sales, Plastics manufacturing, stock room inventory, security, corrections, Warehouse (stocking, receiving, shipping, picking) HR, conveyor and electrical maintenance, Car sales, Insurance sales, and currently I have a fancy title Director of Agent Services, and Technology Coordinator, which really means I give people access to all kinds of new tech toys and show them how to use them in the real estate business. But the only job that really matters is DAD.

I have held virtually every job you can think of, as you can see, and along the way have picked up a truly strange array of skills and knowledge. Luckily, in the last couple of years I finally learned just how little I truly know. Because of this I would truly appreciate comments and feedback from you at jason@dadvolution.co .
